Betta fish breeding methods and precautions

  I. Breeding Methods

  1. Water quality and temperature: Betta fish do not have very high requirements for temperature and can live within 20-30°C. 24-27°C is the most suitable growth water temperature for betta fish. The acidity and alkalinity in the water is best neutral water, and the pH value is controlled between 6.5-7.2. For artificially rearing betta fish, the dissolved oxygen in the water is best maintained at 5 milligrams/liter, and the toxin content in the water should also be monitored and adjusted in time to provide a suitable living environment for betta fish.

  2. Lighting environment: To promote the growth of betta fish, sufficient lighting must be ensured in the fish tank to facilitate photosynthesis of aquatic plants. It is best to equip a small glass tank with a small, soft-light lamp.

  3. Breeding equipment: Betta fish are naturally aggressive. It is best to choose to breed them alone. Containers such as aquariums and glass tanks can be selected for breeding.

  II. Precautions

  1. Water change: During the breeding process, it is best to change the water every 3 to 6 days. The specific water change time depends on the water quality and the size of the fish tank.

  2. Illness: If the water quality is not good or the temperature is too low, betta fish may suffer from ich. Salt can be added to the fish tank for sterilization, or special drugs can be used for insecticide.

  3. Generally, two betta fish will be chosen for breeding. They will fight together and the fish will be more energetic. If only one is raised, it is best to put a mirror beside it to make the fish energetic.
