The lifespan of guppy

The lifespan of guppies usually ranges from 1 to 2 years, and they can live up to two and a half years at most. Guppies are a kind of tropical fish, originally from places like Trinidad and Venezuela in Central and South America. They are deeply loved by ornamental fish enthusiasts because of their beautiful colors and the characteristic of being easy to raise.

The lifespan of guppies is affected by multiple factors, including water quality, temperature, and diet. Appropriate water quality (weakly alkaline, with a pH value between 6.5 and 8) and suitable water temperature (22 - 28 degrees Celsius) help to extend their lifespan. In addition, guppies have a gentle temperament and can be mixed with other gentle small and medium-sized tropical fish, which also contributes to their healthy growth.

Guppies are omnivorous fish and can accept various kinds of feed, brine shrimp, bloodworms and so on as food. To ensure the health of the fish, the fish tank should be thoroughly cleaned and disinfected before new fish are put into it.
